The gauge is supposed to be 20 rows per 4 inches. First, I started of with US 9 needles because that's what the pattern calls for. 20 rows yielded only 3 inches of length! Definitely have to use larger needs if I want to produce the correct length in the same number of rows as the pattern.

I tried with US 10 and viola! 15 rows yields 3 inches, which means I will most likely knit 4 inches in 20 rows.
